Present Continuous

Present Continuous is used to describe an action happening right now, at the moment of speaking, a temporary situation, or a definite plan for the near future. The sense of 'happening right now' is what sets it apart from Present Simple.

Present Continuous (şimdiki zaman), konuşma anında devam eden bir eylemi, geçici bir durumu ya da yakın gelecekte kesinleşmiş bir planı anlatmak için kullanılır. 'Şu anda oluyor' vurgusu, bu zamanı Present Simple'dan ayıran temel özelliktir.

Affirmative Sentences
Olumlu Cümle

am/is/are + verb-ing: I am working, she is working, they are working.
am/is/are + fiil-ing: I am working, she is working, they are working.

Negative Sentences

Spelling Rules for -ing
-ing Ekleme Kuralları

Most verbs just add -ing: work→working.
Çoğu fiile direkt -ing eklenir: work→working.
Verbs ending in -e drop the e: make→making, write→writing (but see→seeing, be→being are exceptions).
-e ile bitenlerde e düşer: make→making, write→writing (ama see→seeing, be→being istisnadır).
One-syllable verbs ending in vowel+consonant double the consonant: run→running, sit→sitting, stop→stopping.
Tek heceli, ünlü+ünsüz ile bitenlerde son ünsüz ikizlenir: run→running, sit→sitting, stop→stopping.
Verbs ending in -ie change to -y: die→dying, lie→lying.
-ie ile bitenlerde ie, y olur: die→dying, lie→lying.

Verbs That Don't Take -ing
-ing Almayan Fiiller

Verbs about feelings, thoughts, perception, or ownership usually don't take -ing: know, like, want, believe, understand, own, need.
Duygu, düşünce, algı, sahiplik bildiren fiiller genelde -ing almaz: know, like, want, believe, understand, own, need.
We say 'I know', not 'I am knowing'.
'I am knowing' değil, 'I know' denir.

A Busy Office Right Now

Right now, the office is very busy. Several people are typing quickly on their computers, and two managers are discussing a new project in the meeting room.

In the corner, someone is making coffee for the team, while another employee is talking loudly on the phone with a client. Everyone seems to be working hard today.

Meanwhile, outside the window, it is raining heavily, and people are hurrying to get inside. Despite the noise and rain, the team is staying focused and finishing their tasks.
